A man killed his aunt and stabbed his cousin as he was opposed to latter’s marriage with his sister-in-law, police said on Sunday. According to police, Kaur’s son, Sumer Singh, got married to Ravinder’s sister-in-law Shilpa last month.

Ravinder, a resident of Sushnat Lok, was opposed to the marriage as he had some business-related disputes with Sumer.

“The accused had a heated argument with Kaur. In a fit of rage, he took a knife from kitchen and stabbed both Kaur and Sumer. They were rushed to hospital where Manjeet died during treatment and Sumer's condition is said to be stable,” said a police officer at Sector 5 police station.

The police said that Sumer and Ravinder had a bitter relationship due to a business-related dispute. The situation became worse when the accused tried to break the engagement between Sumer and Shilpa.

A case has been registered against Ravinder, his wife and grandmother.
