Rahul fan club plans big rally on August 8

THE ALL India Rahul Gandhi Fan Club Association is planning to organise a Congress rally, to be held at Phoolbagh on August 8. National president of the association Shakir Ali Usmani told mediapersons that they have planned to set up 20 hoardings, put up around 10,000 posters, 5000 stickers and banners in all the wards besides involve 50,000 youth for the rally. According to him, the rally would benefit the party in the forthcoming Vidhan Sabha elections.

Speaking on the occasion, Usmani criticised the present reservation proposal for OBC category. In his opinion, 40 per cent tickets in the party should be reserved for the youth. He warned that ignoring the hardworking and devoted party workers would cost the party dear.

Dada Vishnukant Mishra, city president Munshi Lal and others were also present in the Press conference.

Play on Ganga pollution staged at DPS

DELHI PUBLIC School students today organised a street play ‘Sisakti Ganga’ in the school auditorium. The play depicted the plight of the Ganga.

It began with the message, “Let’s carry on with our efforts to stop polluting of the sacred river. It is our moral duty to keep her clean.”

The students presented a choreograph to explain the significance and importance of the river.

The Ganga ambassadors from different countries also presented a street play. They conveyed the message, “It’s only flowers which the Ganga wants and not dead bodies and plastic bags.”

Concluding the assembly, DPS principal Archana Nigam pledged to stand united to bring back the past glory of the river.
