In further trouble for Rahul Mahajan, who is suspected to have consumed drugs before taking seriously ill on Thursday night, Delhi Police on Monday told a local court that he might be made an accused in the case.

Police made this submission before Metropolitan Magistrate MM Chaturvedi while seeking the custody of three Nigerian nationals, arrested following the interrogation of Sahil Zarru, who allegedly procured drugs for Rahul and his aide Vivek Moitra.

Police earlier in the day questioned Rahul at the Apollo Hospital about his mystery ailment and the death of Moitra after the late night party on Thursday night.

He was questioned inside the Intensive Care Unit itself after doctors said he was fit to give a statement.

The Court sent the three Nigerians -- Ibrahim, Abdullah and Tobu -- to ten days police custody till June 15 after investigators sought time for their interrogation to piece together the links in the case.

Police arrested the Nigerians following the interrogation of Sahil Zarru, who allegedly procured drugs for Rahul and Vivek Moitra.

Some drugs were also recovered from their possession, police said.
