Raid on another illegal polythene unit

THE FLYING squad of the Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board (MPPCB) today raided another establishment in the old city dealing in polythene bags below the prescribed size (20 microns). The MPPCB team led by superintendent engineer R K Shrivastava raided Agrawal Traders at Ghoda Nakkas, Mangalwara.

THE FLYING squad of the Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board (MPPCB) today raided another establishment in the old city dealing in polythene bags below the prescribed size (20 microns). The MPPCB team led by superintendent engineer R K Shrivastava raided Agrawal Traders at Ghoda Nakkas, Mangalwara.

The team found about three sacks of polythene bags that violated norms. Each sack contains about 50-60 kg of polythene bags.

The team included executive engineer Munnalal Patel, assistant engineer Rajeev Soni, scientists Avinash Karera and Neeraj Verma and junior scientist Dr Asadullah Baig. Health officer of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation, Dr Pramod Chandra and representatives of an NGO including Pravin Dhaulpure, Shahab Siddiqui and Akhtar Khan also accompanied the team.

DISTRICT COLLECTOR CONSTITUTES TEAM: Meanwhile, district collector Sanjay Shukla has directed the reconstitution of a raid team that would comprise SDM (Habibganj) Rajesh Ogre and deputy collector Jyotsna Gupta to carry out raids in the main market areas of the City and seize polythene bags below the prescribed size.
