Raids on shops, fake branded fabric seized

BAIRAGARH POLICE on Wednesday raided two garment shops and recovered garment rolls carrying fake seals of branded fabric companies. A shop owner has been arrested while the other is absconding.

BAIRAGARH POLICE on Wednesday raided two garment shops and recovered garment rolls carrying fake seals of branded fabric companies. A shop owner has been arrested while the other is absconding.

The raids were conducted at Naresh Cloth Stores and Abhinav Suitings in Bairagarh Township after a complaint was made to police about sale of bogus cloth in the name of branded companies, Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) S Saraf said.

At Naresh Cloth Stores, the police recovered 28 rolls of cloth (130 metres) priced at over Rs 1 lakh. The shop owner Naresh Harchandani was arrested. Similarly, at the other store the police recovered 160 metres of cloth.

The owner of Abhinav Suitings, Nand Kumar Gulani, has been absconding and police have begun a hunt for him. Stock of fabric that bore the fake printed seals of Siyaram and Raymonds has been seized. Shop owners have been booked for fraud.
