Rail Budget will cater to all sections: Lalu

The Railway Minister, however, skirted a number of budget-related questions.

Rail Budget 2006-07 will be presented in Parliament on Friday keeping the interests of all sections in mind, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad said.

"There is something for every section", he said at the customary photo session on the eve of Rail Budget.

His two deputy ministers R Velu and Naranjibhai Rathwa, Chairman Railway Board JP Batra and other members of the Board were present at Rail Bhawan.

The Railway Minister, however, skirted a number of budget-related questions, including whether he would be announcing reliefs to meet the anticipated shortfall from passengers preferring flights in view of the air warfare.
