Sources said railway traffic was suspended due to fault in the overhead electric line near Asawati.

Nine local trains, running between Mathura and Delhi, Palwal and Delhi, etc. were delayed besides a number of long distance trains.

“The fault in overhead electric line occurred at 4 am near Asawati and the same was restored at 7.45 am,” said Anand Swaroop, chief public relations officer, Northern Railways.

“Train services were affected by the fault. Fog also contributed to delays,” said D.D. Singhal, station superintendent, Faridabad station.
