Railway passenger facilities reviewed

A PARLIAMENTARY delegation reviewed passenger facilities at different railways stations of North Eastern Railways on Wednesday. The MPs held a meeting with the officials of North-Eastern Railway in Varanasi on Wednesday to discuss several issues regarding upgradation of facilities at railways stations and trains.

The MPs held a meeting with the officials of North-Eastern Railway in Varanasi on Wednesday to discuss several issues regarding upgradation of facilities at railways stations and trains. MPs including Reoti Raman Singh, Dr Rajesh Mishra, Shailedra Kumar, Tofani Saroj, Subhash Yadav and representative of two MPs Harikewal Prasad and Azad Gandhi advised the NE railway officials to construct over bridges, doubling of tracks and enhancement of passengers’ facilities on the stations falling under the NE Railway zone.

General Manager of NE Railway Sukhbeer Singh also apprised the MPs about the ongoing development works at the railway stations. He informed that beautification works were under way at Chapra, Siwan, Manduadeeh, Varanasi city, Salempur, Ghazipur railway stations etc.

Meanwhile, the NER administration for Varanasi division, has geared up to equip the Manduadeeh Railway Terminal station with modern passengers facilities in Varanasi.

As per information, the Digital Multiple Unit (DMU) trains would ply to Ballia, Ghazipur and Chapra from this station in the first phase. A proposal regarding construction of a new workshop for the maintenance of DMU trains at Manduadeeh station has already been forwarded to Railway board.
