The agitators led by All-India Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti jammed railway tracks this evening at Kakorpur station, about 40 km from Moradabad headquarters.

"We are demanding the inclusion of Jat community and 27% quota for Jats at the central government level. Till the government takes a decision in our favour we will not go anywhere," said Samiti president, Yashpal Mallik.

He also threatened to block Mathura railway track if heed was not payed to their demands.

The trains were diverted to Nizamabad and Aligarh route to avoid inconvenience to commuters.

"Diversion of the route is the only solution to the problem till normalcy is restored at Kakopura railway station," said ADRM Muradabad, A K Singhal.

"We have followed up the matter with the state government and contacted the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh requesting him to solve the problem and maintain law and order," S K Budlakoti, G M Northern railways, said.
