The officials will be deputed at reservation offices across Northern Railway network to keep surveillance and curb the activities of unauthorised travel agencies and check frauds like travel on transferred tickets.

Hoarding and touting of tickets is a major problem during festive seasons. "We run hundreds of special trains to accommodate the rush. But with additional measures like these at stations and at reservation counters, the benefits can reach to the travelers," said Northern Railway spokesperson.

At the behest of Northern Railway general manager SK Budhalakoti, the teams will also carry out surveillance at reservation counters. Arrangements are also being made to stop the misuse of various quotas, especially emergency quota, road-side quota and tatkal quotas.
