Nine people were killed and 13 others were injured when a rainstorm hit several cities in eastern Pakistan's Punjab province, local media reported on Tuesday.

The casualties and injuries occurred in Gujranwala, some 70 km northeast of Punjab's provincial capital Lahore.
Widespread building and infrastructure damage was reported in Gujranwala, Lahore and some other towns due to the rainstorm with winds up to 113 km an hour.
The collapse of buildings caused casualties, the Pakistani newspaper Dawn reported.
