Residents of various areas have alleged that they filed complaints to the administration several times, but no action was taken.

“Rainwater harvesting systems are of no use. The administration constructed it to restore the depleting groundwater of the city, it failed to carry out this project efficiently,” said Raja Ram Yadav, general secretary, Residents’ Welfare Association, Sector 15, Part-2.

“Whenever we approached the administration, they listen to us and ask officials to look into the matter. But nothing has been done,” KS Yadav, president, Residents’ Welfare Association, Sector 14, said.

When contacted, Nitin Yadav, administrator, Huda, said, “We got rain water harvesting structures cleaned. However, they are susceptible to clogging.

We have asked the various residents’ welfare associations to adopt these rainwater harvesting structures to help authorities maintain them and keep them free from clogging. We cannot get results alone.”
