The Jan Morcha president Raj Babbar on Wednesday criticized the superstar Amitabh Bachchan for turning into "brand ambassador of Samajwadi Party". Babbar said the Election Commission should look into the matter, as pre-election advertisement of the SP on TV Channels on prime time was nearly Rs five crore per week.
Addressing media men here on Wednesday Babbar said "Bachchan was appointed UP brand ambassador to promote the interest of the state, but he has become SP’s brand ambassador'. Babbar said “Bachchan’s advertisement about rebirth on the bank of Ganga is purely election campaign for SP”.
Babbar wanted to know “from where the SP has got money to pay Rs five crore package to electronic channels”. He said “other political parties should also take up the issue”. He said “the UP government should explain how much it has been benefited by appointing Bachchan as brand ambassador”. Bachchan’s 90 seconds presentation on the bank of Ganga is being telecast almost on all channels. Babbar said “Bachchan should also explain in which capacity had he worked for the SP".
Referring to Nithari serial killings, Babbar said “the CBI should probe into the connection of a senior SP leader in the case”. He said the UP police “had made efforts to destroy evidences before handing over the case to the CBI”. Babbar said when the state police had stopped investigation after the recovery of 17 skeletons of children the CBI had now recovered organs of 40 more children.
Babbar alleged the “the state police had bungled the case at the instruction of a senior SP leader whose writ runs in Noida”. He said "the UP police, instead of protecting ruling party leader in the case, should come out clean and restore its credibility". He said "Nithari was a big conspiracy involving a SP leader and his associates".

Babbar said for the last three years there had been no cleaning of sewer lines in Noida for which the state government allocated Rs six crore annually. "The fund had been spent", he said. Assailing the state government of deteriorating law and order situation, Babbar said there was an attempt on Jan Morcha general secretary Vinod Singh’s life here on Tuesday.
