The Jan Morcha would not allow continuation of Mulayam Singh Yadav as caretaker chief minister, said Raj Babbar. If Mulayam Singh Yadav was allowed to continue as caretaker chief minister Jan Morcha would launch a statewide agitation, he said. A delegation of Jan Morcha constituents would meet the President after November 14, 2006 to apprise him of developments in UP and demand President’s rule, he said. There was no rule to allow a care taker chief minister. Instead this was a tradition, he said.

Raj Babbar was talking to media persons before launching the third phase of Dadri Mukti Sangram Yatra here today. The third phase of Yatra would commence from Unnao and pass through Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Auraiya, Etawah, Firozabad, Mainpuri and Farrukhabad, he said. The Jan Morcha’s campaign against Mulayam Singh Yadav government was yielding results, he said adding that this has been reflected in the outcome of the urban local bodies poll. The electorate has negated the Samajwadi Party all over the state, he said adding that the SP candidates failed to perform well in the districts falling on route of the Sangram Yatra. The SP candidate lost deposit in Agra, he said.

Babbar also flayed the SP led government for rigging in the urban local bodies poll and said he would produce necessary evidence at appropriate time. The SP led government was responsible for large scale booth capturing in the poll, he said adding that there would be violence in the Vidhan Sabha poll if Mulayam Singh Yadav was allowed to continue as caretaker chief minister.
