In a hardening of stand, the Samajwadi Party on Wednesday suspended filmstar-MP Raj Babbar from its primary membership.

The decision comes a day after debarring him from the party's Parliamentary Forum for his outbursts against General Secretary Amar Singh.

The action against Raj Babbar was recommended by a three-member Disciplinary Action Committee, headed by Kalyan Jain.
The two other members of the committee were Uday Pratap and Khwaza Halim.
The committee has also been asked to report its final decision on the issue within a week.
