“If the elections throw up a fractured mandate, Pawar will want a share in the government pie and align with a party of any political hue,” he said.

Thackeray, who is touring Vidarbha since Tuesday, addressed a few meetings on Wednesday, including one at Nagpur, and criticised Pawar for his alleged double standards.

“Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur — which were once termed as beautiful cities — have now turned ugly,” Raj said.

“The leaders who reap the benefits of power have no time to focus on pro-people initiatives. Instead, they are involved in grabbing land. They are not just taking 100 or 200 acre land, but thousands of acres and defacing and exploiting the state’s natural wealth,” he said, in a reference to the Lavasa township being developed by private parties.

Raj said the Congress-led government had been in power for the past 15 years only because the Opposition was grossly ineffective.

Every politician promises roads, power and water during each election. These are the basic needs and the people’s right.

“Why are they unable to provide these even after holding power for more than 60 years?” he asked and alleged that the ruling parties and their
leaders had fooled the
voters.

Once again resorting to the ‘outsider’ card, Raj said, “Once the MNS comes to power in the state, my government will keep a watch on every migrant,” he said.
