MNS president Raj Thackeray on Monday moved the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court seeking to set aside a non-bailable warrant issued against him by a trial court in connection with a bus stoning case.
On December 5, JMFC of Badnapur tehsil of Jalna district had issued an NBW against Raj and rejected his plea to stay it.
Following a complaint, the Badnapur police had registered cases against the chief of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena under various sections of IPC, Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act and Bombay Police Act on October 21, 2008.
Bus driver Ambadas Telangare had lodged a complaint that 10 to 15 unidentified youths had stoned a bus he was driving near the Hirvi phata.
His counsel said that Raj was falsely implicated in the case and added the court is yet to decide on the date of hearing.
