“It is the conspiracy to destroy the Marathi identity,” he said.

Thackeray was speaking at a function, where students’ body Chhatra Bharati merged with the MNS’s students’ wing. He also did not spare the Sena-BJP combine for the mushrooming of slums.

“The ruling party has no control over the administration,” he said.

On the Emraan Hashmi controversy where the actor alleged discrimination by a housing society because he is a Muslim, Thackeray said the matter is being blown out of proportion.

“Here Maharashtrians are being denied flats and no one speaks for them,” he said.
