Union Minister of State for Defence O Rajagopal (BJP) in Thiruvanthapuram, AICC Secretary Ramesh Chennithala in Mavelikara and Congress Veteran K Karunakaran's daughter Padmaja Venugopal in Mukundapuram were among 47 aspirants who filed nominations for the Lok Sabha polls in Kerala on Thursday.

Former Union Ministers Mullapally Ramachandran of Congress in Kannur and S Krishna Kumar of BJP in Mavelikara, sitting Congress MP VS Sivakumar in Thiruvananthapuram and VM Sudheeran in Alappuzha were other prominent contestants to enter the field on the penultimate day of the nomination process.
Kerala Congress (M) leader and State Revenue Minister KM Mani's son, Jose K Mani, filed his papers in the Muvattupuzha seat where the NDA contestant is Union Minister of State for Law PC Thomas.
K Manoj of CPI-M and V Padmanabhan of BJP also filed nomination for the Alappuzha seat.
