Amidst rumblings over Chief Minister's post in the event of Congress coming to power in Andhra Pradesh, the man who is widely tipped to get the job, Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, prefers to maintain silence over the issue.
"It is better we leave the decision to the elected party legislators and the high command. The less we talk about it, the better it is for our health," Reddy, leader of the Congress Legislature Party in the dissolved assembly, told reporters here today.
His Jubilee Hills residence was a beehive of activity, swarmed by a large number of supporters who came from all over the state to greet him in the backdrop of exit polls projecting victory for Congress-TRS alliance.
Though Reddy is widely seen in political circles as chief ministerial candidate of Congress, the race for the coveted post has begun in the party's state unit with several aspirants making moves to further their chances.
The state Congress President D Srinivas, former Union Minister and dalit leader G Venkataswamy and former Chief Minister N Bhaskar Rao are said to be among contenders.
