Infosys Technologies Chief Mentor NR Narayana Murthy has condemned the violence that broke out in Bangalore after the death of Kannada movie icon Rajkumar and said the thespian deserved a better farewell.

Describing the Kannada superstar as an "extraordinary and gentle" person, he said: "The way it (the violence) happened is not the way we could pay tribute to somebody like Rajkumar. It was really sad."

"I wish his (Rajkumar's) fans and supporters realised this and not created havoc," he said.
