Kannada megastar Rajkumar, who passed away on Wednesday, wanted to return to acting but his wish will remain unfulfilled.

After he was set free by forest bandit Veerappan, who held the actor hostage for 108 days in 2000, Rajkumar had promised his fans that he would soon act in the film 'Bhakta Ambareesh.'

Rajkumar, a recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke award, was all set to play the lead role in the film but his health did not permit it.
His last film "Shabdavedi" hit the screen seven years ago and since then, Rajkumar, affectionately called "Annavaru" (elder brother) by everyone in the film industry, had been toying with the idea of returning to acting, but it was not to be.
