BJP national president and candidate for Ghaziabad Lok Sabha constituency Rajnath Singh once again raised the contentious issue of Ramjanambhoomi-Babri Masjid on Sunday evening. He was addressing a rally organised by some Congress-defectors in a Muslim-dominated area of Dasna-Masoori in Ghaziabad.

In a bid to strike a cord with the gathering of mostly Muslim voters, he said, “We will not stab you in the back. The BJP wants to draw you close….” While blaming the Congress, SP and the BSP simultaneously for the pathetic condition of Muslims in India, he said, “Hindutva cannot be an election agenda. It should not be dragged into vote-bank politics,” he said.

Later, he reiterated that a Ram temple should be built in Ayodhya. “Let the temple be built there and we will let you build a mosque at any place you want. We will initiate every possible step for it,” he said.
