He told reporters in Chennai that the poll strategy would be finalised at the party's state executive committee meeting on March 6 and 7.

Different committees, including the manifesto and campaign committees, would be announced during the meeting.

The meeting would be attended by senior party leaders, including Venkaiah Naidu, Rajiv Pratap Rudi and L Ganesan.

On the coming polls, he said the anti-establishment votes of AIADMK in Tamil Nadu would be "helpful" to the BJP.

The anti-incumbency votes would be divided between the DMK-led front, Actor Vijay Kant's Desiya Munnetra Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) and the BJP, he claimed.

He said the rank and file of his party had near unanimously favoured going it alone and were gearing themselves.

In reply to a question, Dattatreya said MDMK was "still confused" and its leader Vaiko "will keep on saying that he is with DPA, but he is confused.

He said his party would give more opportunities for women and weaker sections, including dalits and OBCs, to contest the coming assembly polls.
