The father of a Ghaziabad youth, who was killed in an alleged fake encounter in Dehra Dun on July 3, has filed a police complaint saying that he has received a letter threatening people from western UP with dire consequences, if they came to Uttarakhand in search of jobs.
The letter was reportedly received by Ravindra Pal Singh, father of the 22-year-old Ranbir Singh, three days back and he had lodged a complaint in this connection with Khekhra police station in Baghpat.
When contacted, Senior Superintendent of Police, Dehra Dun Abhinav Kumar on Tuesday said he was informed about the letter by his Baghpat counterpart, who also sought cooperation of local police for carrying out investigations in the matter.
"Though I have not received a copy of the letter, I have assured them (Baghpat police) of full cooperation in this
regard," said Kumar.
The 22-year-old Ghaziabad youth Ranbir Singh was killed in encounter by Uttarakhand police, who claimed that he along with two others fled after snatching service revolver of a Sub-Inspector.
However, Ravindra Pal Singh negated the police theory stating that his son was innocent and had gone to Dehra Dun
for a job in a private bank. The case is now being probed by the CBI.
