HAD ITAUNJA police acted promptly on information about missing of 16-year-old girl on September 7, her body would have been recovered earlier.
The skeleton was recovered on Friday. The girl was raped and later hacked to death by her teenage lover and the latter’s friend on September 6. The girl had to face death for refusing to have physical relations with her lover’s friend.
The cops woke up only after the skeleton of the victim’s body was recovered and they arrested the girl’s lover on Saturday. The cops were now hunting for another accused. The incident came into light on Friday when residents of Shivri village spotted a skeleton and clothes of a girl. Local police were informed and cops contacted a man of Lodhauli village who had lodged an FIR about missing of his 16-year-old daughter on September 7.
The victim’s father Hanuman Prasad arrived there and identified the clothes as that of his daughters. The complainant, while intimating the local police about missing of his daughter, had suspected role of Rajendra Vishwakarma of Itaunja Township behind the mysterious disappearance of the girl. But, the cops had shooed him away hurling expletives at him and making lurid comments on his daughter.
But on Saturday, the cops reacted promptly and picked up Rajendra (17). The teenager confessed to his crime in the course of interrogation. He revealed that he had developed an affair with Hanuman’s daughter as he used to visit the house frequently. The girl’s brother was Rajendra’s friend. Rajendra claimed he also developed physical relation with the girl and used to meet her.

{{/usCountry}}On September 6, Rajendra revealed, he called the girl to a secluded orchard at Shivri village where he made love to her. Meanwhile, Rajendra’s friend Rakesh of Karaundi village too arrived there as the duo had planned earlier. Rakesh tried to make advances towards the girl to which she objected. The girl was shocked to see Rajendra too forcing her to compromise for his friend.
As the girl resisted and threatened them with dire consequences the duo raped her and later hacked her to death with a chopper. They dumped her body in the thickets.
