Rare treat for bibliophiles in UP

As part of its initiative to revive the literary works of pre-Independence era by publishing rare books written in Hindi and Urdu languages, the Hindustani Academy has decided to publish a rare book on the legendary king Raja Bhoj along with a series of other manuscripts.

Release of the book will coincide with Raja Bhoj's 'Coronation millennium year' to be celebrated from December this year. The book, 'Raja Bhoj' written by Ramagya Dwivedi 'Sameer' was published once in 1932.

The publication works of two other rare books 'Awadh Kosh' (1934) and 'Prayag Pradeep' (1937) has also started. They will be in market by the end of this month.

"Raja Bhoj is one of the important book selected to revive the Hindustani language. We have recently concluded publication work of Prayag Pradeep, which is an exhaustive description of the socio-political history of Allahabad documented by writer Shaligram Srivastava in 1937," said Ishwar Sharan, in-charge, Hindustani Academy.

He said the books would provide a good reading material for the readers as well as research scholars.

The Hindustani Academy established in January 1927, publishes Hindi and Urdu language books. The academy also conducts seminars, talks, and lectures for the promotion of Hindi language.
