While campaigning for the president's job, Calderon said he would sign AC Milan midfielder Kaka, Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas and Chelsea winger Arjen Robben but the players' clubs have refused to negotiate their sale.

Calderon said Real's decision to call a halt to their bid to sign the trio was because coach Fabio Capello and sporting director Predrag Mijatovic felt the side had other needs.

"I would have liked all three to have come," Calderon said. "But my first condition was that their arrival depended on the decisions of Capello and Mijatovic and right now they aren't a priority."

"I'm not going to interfere in these matters."

Milan attacked Real for their attempts to lure Kaka to the Bernabeu and vice president Adriano Galliani said he would do all he could to make the Spanish club's life impossible.

Calderon said the Serie A side had responded by trying to sign Ronaldo but he said the Brazilian striker would remain with Real.
