Release 3rd BTC list, demand students

COMPETITIVE STUDENTS staged a demonstration at the district headquarters and submitted a memorandum for the Chief Minister (CM) here on Saturday. The students, led by Rajesh Singh, demanded release of the third BTC list for conducting BTC examination and for dissolving the Lower Commission. They shouted anti-government slogans and submitted a memorandum for the CM to ACM (first) Mahendra Singh.

COMPETITIVE STUDENTS staged a demonstration at the district headquarters and submitted a memorandum for the Chief Minister (CM) here on Saturday. The students, led by Rajesh Singh, demanded release of the third BTC list for conducting BTC examination and for dissolving the Lower Commission. Addressing the students, Singh said that the Basic Education Minister failed to keep his promise for releasing the third list of Special BTC against 13,500 vacancies in the State. He charged the inister with adopting a wrong policy towards the meritorious students by not conducting BTC (regular) 2004 examination. Singh said that the State government had not considered their demand of 10 per cent selection in PCS (preliminary) examination and accused the State government of corrupt practices. He said that the State government had shifted the recruitment of government readers and other lower posts from UP Public Service Commission (PSC) to Lower Commission, Lucknow due to vested interests.

Allahabad University Students Union general secretary Suresh Yadav demanded Rs 1000 as unemployment allowance for all graduates. Those present were Samar Bahadur Singh, Vijay Dwivedi, Dhananjay Singh, Nathuram Baudh, Pravesh Yadav, Alok Singh and Amit Singh.
