NMC president Subash Shastri said 17% DA is due from January and July besides enhancement of the wages of working class to `10,000 per month.
Strict implementation of the contributory fund scheme in all departments, declaring the 7th pay commission as a national pay commission and amending the SRO 64 were other demands by the NMC protesters.

Shastri appealed to the state government not to test the patience of the employees "as we have suffered a lot".

He further said whichever party forms the government should focus on the regularisation of 62000 casual and ad-hoc labourers and contractual employees of the state government on a priority basis.

While pleading the cause of poor dailywagers, Shastri said casual labourers had a lot of anger inside as they not have been regularised despite promises and assurances.
