Reliance Energy?s Q4 net rises 15 per cent

Anil Ambani-controlled Reliance Energy Ltd (REL) on Wednesday announced 15 per cent increase in its net profit for the fourth quarter at Rs 169 crore, while the company’s earning per share increased to 32.7 per cent recording a growth of 17 per cent.

Reliance Energy Ltd also posted an increase of 25 per cent in its net profit at Rs 650 crore for the fiscal against Rs 520 crore for 2004-05, according to a release.

In addition to a quarterly interim dividend of Rs 1.20 per equity share, the board of Reliance Energy Ltd has also recommended a final dividend of Rs 3.80 per equity share, taking the total payout to Rs 5.00 per equity share for the year ended March 31, 2006, which is subject to approval by shareholders.

The total income for the quar ter was Rs 1,225 crore against Rs 1,590 crore, while the same for the year was up to Rs 4,608 crore as compared to Rs 4,593 crore for 2004-05.

Reliance Energy Ltd registered 15 per cent increase in its net profit for the quarter to Rs 169 crore against Rs 148 crore for the same quarter last fiscal.

The cash profit of Reliance Energy Ltd stood at Rs 999 crore, a jump of 15 per cent against the cash profit of the company in 2004-05.
