Following an embargo imposed on the sale of properties owned by developers of the Mayfield Garden project by the Haryana government recently, the Gurgaon administration has said that the interest of individual property owners would be taken care of.
The district administration is now seeking legal opinion on the subject. It said that the registration of the properties with the revenue records would not be stopped in all the cases.
The state government had imposed an embargo on the developers of Mayfield Garden project restraining them from selling houses as the colonies' buildings plans have not been sanctioned by the authority.
The move came after a series of complaints lodged by resident groups which said the colonies falling under the project in sectors 47, 50, 51, 52 and 57 have not been set up according to the approved plan and the agreement between builders and the town and country planning department.
The ball is now in the court of the district administration that has to take call on the issue of registration of properties related to the project.
PC Meena, Gurgaon deputy commissioner, said that the district administration was seeking legal opinion, "Since the embargo is on the unsold properties, not all the houses will be affected. We have to classify the properties which would not be registered in the revenue record following the embargo. We would ensure that the individual property owners are not affected with the embargo decision," he said.

"Only properties which are owned by the developers of Mayfield Garden would get impacted. Besides, the properties of which installments are still due would be targeted. Things would be clear in a couple of days. We are confident about this," Meena added.
