A helicopter of the International Committee for the Red Crescent (ICRC) engaged in relief operations crashed on Thursday in the quake-hit region of Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir, injuring two crew members.
ICRC spokesperson Raza Hamdani said the incident took place near Muzaffarabad, when the puma chopper was on a relief mission in the area.
He said the two people onboard had sustained injuries.
"The pilot and his colleague are now conscious," Hamdani stated, without citing the cause of the crash.
He said the helicopter had been carrying out relief missions since October, when a massive earthquake wrought devastation in northern Pakistan and Kashmir, killing 75,000 people and displacing 3.5 million.
This is the second mishap involving an ICRC helicopter since January, when an MI-8 helicopter went missing with seven crewmembers on board.
