Remand of Ayodhya attack accused extended

The five have been accused of providing arms and ammunitions to the five militants who had attacked the complex.

The remand of the five arrested in connection with the terrorist attack on the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya has been extended by 14 days by a local court on Monday. The matter will now be heard on February 7.

The accused, Asif Iqbal, Aziz, Naseem, Shakeel and Irfan, who had been lodged in the Naini Central Jail, were brought to the court under tight security.

They were arrested from Saharanpur and Jammu in 2005 and have been charged with providing arms and ammunition to the five terrorists, who had attacked the complex in last July, but were killed during an encounter with the security personnel.
