Earlier, the Rapid MetroRail Gurgaon Limited (RMGL) had claimed to launch the project in May.

The RMGL officials said a number of hoardings had been installed in March as a foreign delegation was to visit the site.

However, these were removed after their visit. The officials claimed that progress on the project was satisfactory and it would be launched by the end of May.

“The RMGL is completing the formalities required for inviting the commissioner of railway safety. It will be ready in about 10 days. The application for commissioner is likely to be moved in the first week of May,” he added. The Rapid Metro project, the construction of which began in November 2010, was earlier slated to begin in January this year. However, the date was shifted to April.
