Remove encroachments: HC

THE LUCKNOW bench of the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday called upon the authorities concerned to remove encroachments from roads, pathways, playgrounds etc and file a status report in court by October 10.

A bench, comprising Justice UK Dhaon and Justice Rakesh Sharma, was hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL). The PIL had been filed earlier by the Nishatganj Residents’ Welfare Association for removing encroachments from the city areas.
The principal secretary (Irrigation), the additional municipal commissioner, Nagar Nigam, and the additional SP (Traffic) filed their report in compliance with the court’s earlier orders, which were kept on record.

The matter shall come up for hearing on October 10.

Meanwhile, Chief Development officer Shri Ram Ganesh has directed officials to remove all encroachments from industrial zones in Lucknow district at the earliest.

He was addressing a meeting of officials under the directions of district magistrate Ramendra Tripathi at the district collectorate here on Tuesday.
