Renowned Hindi poet Kailash Gautam died in Allahabad on Saturday following a cardiac arrest, family sources said. He was 65.

He is survived by wife, two daughters and a son.

Gautam was admitted to a hospital two days ago with cardiac problems and he breathed his last on Saturday morning.
He had authored over a dozen books, some of which had been honoured by the Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sansthan.
He was also the president of Allahabad-based literary organisation, the Hindustani Academy.
