Repolling has been ordered in four polling stations and was likely in 11 others where electoral irregularities were reported in the first phase of elections in Karnataka on Tuesday.

The Returning Officer of Bangalore North Lok Sabha constituency GS Naraynaswamy has announced that re-poll would be held in two polling stations in Hoskote assembly segments on April 22 where miscreants damaged EVMs.

Repolling has also been ordered in a polling station coming under Uttarahalli Assembly segment and another in Hirebasur village falling under Davanagere Lok Sabha constituency and would be held on April 22.

Meanwhile, state Chief Electoral Officer Abhijit Dasgupta indicated that repolling would be held in 11 other booths.

He said at least in six polling stations in Kolar miscreants had either damaged or destroyed EVMs and similar incidents were reported from three stations in Bijapur.

In one of the booths in Bellary, miscreants forcibly took possession of EVMs and registered about 80 votes, he said.
