“Indian Council of Medical Research Director General V.M. Katoch has appropriately answered to the superbug theory. It is atrocious to have named a country and a city after a bacteria based on a irrational and non-scientific study,” Dr Reddy said.

“I honestly disagree with the report having named Delhi as the origin of the bacteria as infection in hospital is a global concern,” he said.

“If it affects medical tourism, I think it is highly motivated and we are taking up the issue and our specialists are going to give a report.”
