The fourth installment of the Resident Evil series hit US theatres yesterday. According to Sony Pictures, Resident Evil: Afterlife, is the first film after Avatar to use the James Cameron and Vincent Pace’s patented Fusion Camera System, which is now being referred to as the world’s most advanced 3D technology.

The film has been dubbed in English, Hindu, Tamil and Telugu. After a series of not-so-exciting 3D films like Alice in Wonderland and Clash of the Titans, hopefully this should help audiences heave a sigh of relief.

Undead again
The plot of the film remains constant through the sequels, as does the protagonist, Alice (Mila Jovovich). As a result of an experiment having gone wrong, a dangerous T-virus is released into the air turning everyone in the city and thelaboratory into blood hungry zombies, referred to as the ‘undead’.

The film flows on as a mindless action, sci-fi and partially horror flick where it is Alice’s self-assigned responsibility to take uninfected people to safety. Written and directed by Paul W S Anderson, the prequels to this film have been — Resident Evil (2002),Resident Evil:Apocalypse (2004) and Resident Evil: Extinction (2007).
