On Sunday, the affected residents supported by their association forced work to stop on the construction site. They claimed that construction was underway despite a stay order from a court.

The residents claim the DLF has unauthorisedly sold a section of site to a private player in connivance with the town and country planning department. However, the construction was resumed with the help of police after the promoter produced documents proving the court had revoked the stay order.

K.K. Malhotra, a resident of Q block in DLF City (Phase II) said the company had sold a plot of about 1000 sq yards to a company owned by Som Bakshi for the school. “In July last year we saw a section of the park being dug up for the school. We moved court and got a stay order on August 25 but the construction went on. On December 25 we had to call police to stop work on the site,” he said.

Bakshi claimed that on January 9 the high court had vacated the stay order after he had filed an undertaking that he would ensure peace in the locality. “The site was a school site in the original layout plan of DLF City since 1991 and here has been no change in that, “ he said.

Shalini Wadhawa, spokesperson for DLF Group, said no community site in DLF City had been sold to anyone and all guidelines of the town and country planning departments had been followed.
