The colony, spread over 290 acres, houses around 700 families and most of them have refused to pay the maintenance charge citing lack of services.

According to residents, the boundary wall of the society is broken and the builder has failed to erect entrance gates for two housing blocks - Dear Wood and E-space - in the last five months. Also, generators do not have an automatic switch-off option and they keep running even when there is power.

"The entrance of E-space has an open sewerage pipe and it is overflowing. Roads are also full of potholes," said Sanu Kapila, president, Nirvana Country residents' welfare association.

The developer, Unitech, has increased the maintenance charges from Re 1 to Rs 2.50 per square feet from April this year. But the residents say they were not informed about the hike.

"We have no problem in paying for maintenance, but we want assurance of services from the developer," said BK Kalra, a member of the RWA.
