State Home Minister Ravi Naik said that he will seek detailed investigation report from the police once their inquiry into the missing drugs from the malkhana (police custody) is over.

"The responsibility has to be fixed in this matter. All the police incharges who headed Anti Narcotic Cell during last decade will have to be probed," Naik said.

Police-drug peddler nexus scam has hit Goa police after Israeli drug dealer Yaniv Benaim alias Atala was caught on camera confessing about police selling him the drugs which were filched from the malkhana.

Six policemen including Inspector Ashish Shirodkar were suspended after Atala’s revelation, of which five are arrested and sixth is absconding. Crime branch had initiated an inquiry into the entire nexus.

The Home Minister said that it was responsibility of all the incharges to check the amount of drugs registered in malkhana and actual amount existing in it.

The department will now check the conduct of all the officers including current police sub inspector Sunil Gudler, who is holding the charge.
