Restore union: ECC students
EWING CHRISTIAN College (ECC) students took out a procession and met Bishop Stephen in support of their demand to restore the student union in the college. The students also met circle officer-III Vinod Kumar, demanding action against policemen who brutally lathi-charged those protesting against the student?s council in ECC. A large number of students led by former ECC union president Vikramjeet Singh, Alok Jaiswal, Om Prakash Dwivedi reached the Bishop House at Civil Lines and demanded that Bishop Stephen must restore the student union.
EWING CHRISTIAN College (ECC) students took out a procession and met Bishop Stephen in support of their demand to restore the student union in the college. The students also met circle officer-III Vinod Kumar, demanding action against policemen who brutally lathi-charged those protesting against the student’s council in ECC.
A large number of students led by former ECC union president Vikramjeet Singh, Alok Jaiswal, Om Prakash Dwivedi, Gauravraj Tripathi and Mohd Akram reached the Bishop House at Civil Lines and demanded that Bishop Stephen must restore the student union.
They claimed that the Bishop had promised to take a decision after discussions with the principal. AU student leaders Brijendra Mishra, Vijay Dwivedi and large number of students were also present on the occasion.
Vande Mataram anniv
THE AKHIL Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) will celebrate the anniversary of the National Song Vande Mataram as a national festival. ABVP city secretary Shivendra Mishra through said that group song and lighting of lamp would be performed by the activists on the University Road on September 7.
Mishra said that a Vande Martaram procession would be taken out from the University Road crossing through Katra, Manmohan Park, Hanuman Mandir, Subhash Square, Medical Square and Balson Square on the eve of the Vande Mataram anniversary.
A committee has been formed in this regard comprising Vivek Mishra, Ajai Rai, Abhishek Pandey, Sandeep Yadav, Vishal Singh and Rajesh Singh Patel. Mishra appealed to the students to attend the programme in large numbers.
Change in time-table sought
AU STUDENTS gheraoed dean of Arts, Prof KG Srivastava, to demand one chance to the students who had made wrong entries in their subject in the BA -III.
The group was led by student leader Abhishek Shukla, Pradeep Narayan Dwivedi and Sunil Dwivedi.
Shukla demanded change in the time table as the students were unable to attend two classes simultaneously owing to sevearl discrepancies in the time-table.
Those present on the occasion were Irshads Ullah, Babul Singh, Vinay Shukla, Abhay Mishra, Rakesh Pandey, Ashish Pandey, Ashwini Dubey, Dinesh Kumar, Dinkar Pandey, Anuj Dubey, Nawab Mehboob and Sanaul Mustafa among others.
German diploma admission
SCHEDULE CASTE/schedule tribe, research scholars and students doing post graduate and LLB courses, who had applied for admission to the 1st year of German diploma, should report with their original documents at the officeof English department between 11 am to 12.30 pm on September 5.
