DMAT results were announced on Tuesday by the Association of Private Dental and Medical Colleges (APDMC) of MP. Uncertainty still haunts the candidates seeking admission to private dental and medical colleges as the state government filed a special leave petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court challenging the MP High Court ruling. The HC ruled on September 15 that the Dental and Medical Admission Test (DMAT) 2006 was valid.
The allotments– as per the merit and preference given by the candidates in OMR application forms – will be intimated to the candidates individually. The students on this basis can start seeking admissions to the nine private dental and three private medical colleges in the state.
Individual results along with ranks are available on the websites of the association – www.mpdmat.org and www.apdmc.org. The general merit list and the allotments will be put on the websites shortly – may be in two days, association office-bearers told Hindustan Times.
The association has said that the process of admissions, including for the vacant seats after the first phase of allotments, will be completed before September 30, the deadline set by the Supreme Court regarding admissions to professional courses. The association would rather complete the process by September 29 so that the students do not face any problem on September 30 – a bank closing day — regarding payment of fees, the office-bearers said. A meeting of the association would be held shortly either at Indore or Bhopal to decide the future course of action.
SLP: Though deputy advocate-general of the State Sanjay K Agrawal completed the SLP process, the petition is yet to be admitted and no date has yet been fixed for the preliminary hearing, it was learnt. Deputy secretary of the Medical Education Department Umakant Pandeya is camping in New Delhi to pursue the matter.

Tankha appeared for the APDMC at the High Court in Jabalpur during the final hearing of the DMAT case along with senior advocate and BJP leader Ravishankar Prasad.
