In the last 58 years, Pakistani Army even at the cost of Pakistani economy going bankrupt has left no stones unturned in trying to achieve military parity with India. The phenomenal economic growth that India has achieved in last the decade and half is becoming anathema for Pakistani Military. It is getting difficult for them to digest the fact that India will be an economic super power by the year 2025 as already projected by the various world bodies. More money in the hands of Indians means more sophisticated and modern arms for Indian Army that will be impossible to match by Pakistan.

So now the Pakistan sponsored Jehadis are targeting the Indian Scientific community, the tourist centers and the places of worship (to cause communal disharmony). Next on their line of fire will be Indian Defence Production institutions, ISRO, nuclear establishments and what have you. Aim being to scare away the foreign investments and money pouring in India. Pakistani Military and ISI knows that the ill equipped and pot bellied Indian police, already neck deep in dealing with the rising crime graph in the country and the VIP protection duties will not be able to cope with this new threat.

Nobody in India should be in doubt that these recent Jeahdi strikes outside Kashmir are isolated flash in the pan. These strikes are part of a well-planned and orchestrated new strategy by Pakistani Army and ISI to destabilize India economically. We should be prepared for more such strikes in future. We should also be rest assured that our ill organized and ad hoc internal security system will not be able to cope with this new development. It is time now for a high level committee on the lines of Subramanium Committee of Kargil War to be constituted to suggest reorganisation of the Indian Internal Security system to cope with this new emerging threat. All Central Intelligence Agencies, State Intelligence Agencies; Central Paramilitary and Police forces and Special Task Forces of State police must work in tandem with total connectivity and accountability.

We all must be clear in our minds that in their new planned strategy Pakistani Army is extending the borders of its proxy war which it is fighting against India in Kashmir to whole of India. Apart from refurbishing our internal security system we will have to take this war in the Pakistani camp. Age-old principle of war that 'the offence is the best defence' still holds good. Towards this end Ministry Of Defence, Home Ministry and Ministry Of External Affairs will have to work in tandem to evolve a new counter strategy. Earlier it happens better for the country.
