Bachelors on the brink of marriage will have their fantasies-come-true with Hangover directed by Todd Phillips, who is now likely to find his place in the Hollywood sun after being identified largely with so-so B-graders (Old School, Road Trip). A high-concept, lunatic drama, it’s about ‘misplacing’ a groom in Las Vegas, after a night on the tiles.
A dentist (Helms), a school teacher (Cooper) and the bride’s wacko brother (Zach Galifianakis, a hoot) wake up in a swishy hotel suite and don’t have a clue why they’re surrounded by a tiger, a rooster and assorted wreckage.
In the bid to track down the missing groom, the trio meet Mike Tyson (the real one), a sweet stripper (Heather Graham, impressive) and more characters and crises than they can handle.
A cleverly written, slickly photographed and expertly acted comedy, this one’s a sure shot remedy for the blues. Enjoy.
