From drug abuse to mowing down people to raping, there's nothing that a rich brat hasn't done. While Fardeen is stuck in a drug-related case, Abhishek Kasliwal of the Sriram Mills' family was charged with raping an old lady. Vikas Yadav, Sanjeev Nanda, Manu Sharma, and more recently Rahul Mahajan too, have attained notoriety.

What's common between all these accused? They all come from wealthy backgrounds and have the "who cares?" attitude in plenty — enough to make them believe they are above the law. But who is to be blamed?

Theatre artiste and socialite Sita Raina says, "I personally think that life for the newly rich means alcohol and flamboyant lifestyle and that is where the problem lies. We have really lost our soul. Who are we trying to ape? The West? Rich people are looking for outside sources for happiness and it's not just the rich people. Another problem is that the society is getting depleted. Even in Rahul Mahajan case, it all started from drinking. There is no end to all such things. We need to get real now. Our foundation needs to be strong with spiritual grounding which should start at the academic level itself."
