SEVERAL PROGRAMMES were organised in the city today to pay homage to senior Congress leader late Madhavrao Scindia on the occasion of his 61st birth anniversary.
The District Congress Committee (city) took out a ‘prabhat pheri’ from Congress Bhavan at Shinde Ki Chhavni at 7.30 am and offered floral tributes to Scindia after reaching Amma Maharaj Ki Chhatri.
District Congress Committee president Prakash Khandelwal said that the Congress workers offered ‘shramdan’ at Madhavrao Scindia Park at the City Centre under the leadership of senior party leader Darshan Singh. The Mahila Congress distributed 51 kilogram of ‘laddus’ on this occasion.
The Congress leaders and workers distributed the fruits at Hazira Gwalior Civil Hospital, Achleshwar Mahadev Temple and Kushth Ashram. Congressmen also organised a blood donation camp at Balabai Ka Bazaar.
Large number of Congress leaders including freedom fighters Dr R D Paprikar, Prakash Khandelwal, former MLA Ramesh Agarwal, Rambaran Singh Gurjar, Ashok Sharma, Chandra Mohan Nagori, Ismail Khan Pathan, Balkhade, Raj Kumar Sharma and many others participated in the prabhat pheri.
