It's pink versus saffron in the coastal state of Goa with right wing organisations appealing the young Valentine revelers not to go overboard in their celebrations on February 14.
Two groups-- Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and Shiv Sena have said that the youngsters should resist themselves from "vulgar displays" on Valentines Day.
Goa Shiv Sena chief Upendra Gaonkar said that his party cadre will go around the state campus to ensure that students don't go overboard in expressing their emotions.
"If we find the students going extreme we will act against them in typical shiv sena style," he said in a veiled threat.
Gaonkar said that they will not tolerate any kind of vulgarity and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has asked the youths to desist from celebrating such a day as it is a western concept.
"It's a wrong concept embolded in youth minds. We oppose it and want that the parents to preach about such pervert practices," HJS spokesman Jayesh Thali said.
